THIS WAS JUST A POEM MY FRIEND AMY WROTE AND I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY SO I DECIDED TO SHARE IT!
I paused beneath the spaded gate,
Prepared for neither doom nor fate,
How dare those fools look down on me?
When they are such a sight to see,
Set and sad so stuck in place,
Perhaps that is what has marred their face,
Or was it the dew that made them quip,
For now, bitterness is all they drip.
Beguiled and bewildered may be some
But in your life, I see no fun
To romp or skip or skin a knee
How dull for you it all must be
To be so ridged in your stance
To never have the chance to dance
To simply wait for seasons end
To wilt and waste and bend
Another season there is to see
But do not be to full of glee
For your spell will pass, your time will come
Though there may be new life in some
Nevertheless, annuals are what you are
And winter cannot be too far
And the colors now so rich and bright
Will wash away in darker light
Therefore, it did not matter what it is you say
For I can merely walk away
So I leave you here, as dusk will fall
However, I do have something to say to you all
If I stop to speak to you,
Do not make me a martyr too.
.
So save your tears, your sins and regrets.
You have not gotten the best of me yet.
And if what I ask, is too much to handle,
By all means, begin your scandals,
And talk until your life sounds great,
However, as for us it is far too late.
I will take my leave thru this trodden gate
And leave it all up to fate
